What is the difference between a politician and a statesman?

2 comments:

  1. A statesman is firstly concerned with the good of the State he represents, secondly actually has the skills (or chutzpah) to guide (or drag) his polity and his allies and often his enemies along with his plans.

A politician is firstly concerned with his reputation and his personal connections, secondly sometimes has the skills (or chutzpah) to force his way.
